Cost of Hannah’s first Cerezyme treatment

This was the cost of the Infusion Center, the 3+ hours we were there, as well as the cost of the Cerezyme for Hannah.  Remember, Cerezyme is used based on weight, and Hannah only weighs 16 pounds.   This doesn’t include all her other doctors and procedures — this is JUST her biweekly infusion.

Cerezyme – over $3300
Infusion Center – over $10,800

    Wow. That is incredible. {shaking head}

    is any of this covered by your insurance?

  3. It’s so expensive, isn’t it? Unbelievable. My annual cost of medicine is about $200K — thankfully my insurance covers most of it.

    I owe you an e-mail response as soon as I get some free moments this weekend. I’m so glad Hannah’s first infusion went well and that you’ve been in touch with Greg Macres and other Gaucher experts.

    Nancy’s last blog post..Book lust, fairy dust (or is it fairy lust?)

    after reading you comments that we forwarded to me from greg, i noticed that you had said something like “moms” blogging comments. how about “PARENTS” blogging .. i’m sure you didn’t mean to leave “dad’s” out. it’s ok, i’m sure you didn’t even think about it. by the way what do you think about a “gauchers” bracelet, you know, like what they do for cancer ! i’d be in for that, i’ve donated i think a little over $ 90,000. to the foundation over the last 8 years, so a little more can’t hurt.let me know when you get started. hang in there !!! brad
