Rotavirus attacks!

Hannah has been in the hospital since Saturday.   I just talked to Daddy, and she has been doing really well over the past two days!  She is tolerating her feeds well, she is not throwing up anymore, and she looks good.  Even better, she is almost done with the Ativan withdrawal!

As for me, well, her virus got me as well.  I spent the last 24+ hours pretty much asleep in bed, dealing with the same symptoms she had (just not as severe as she had!).   I think my body just has been so exhausted over the past couple of months, not getting any real sleep, that it just took hold of the opportunity to get sick and knock me out.    Even though I still have the “symptoms,” I am mostly just incredibly sore all over my body.

The worst part?   Kenny, one of our dogs, got out yesterday morning, and I got a phone call from a walker who found him about 1/2 mile away from our house!  He met me at the corner of the main street, and I was so dang appreciative.  As soon as he was out of site, I threw up all over the sidewalk, nice huh?  I’m so glad that it was really early in the morning because I didn’t see any cars!   Glad no neighbors saw me walking back either, would not want to meet them this way!

Daddy has been with Hannah for the past 36 hours, thank goodness.  I really, really hope she can come home today.  She has her first Cerezyme treatment tomorrow with a GI followup on Thursday and Neuro on Friday.  Not to mention, Pulmonology on Monday, and meeting our new pediatrician on the 16th!   She will definitely be “monitored.”

OMG Carrie sorry to hear you got the virus also. Thank God you are not still in Houston all alone with this and that you are able to stay home and get over this virus and rest while Bobby is at the hospital with Hannah plus your in laws helping with the other children.

So glad you got Kenny back, boy it doesnt just RAIN does it, I mean it just POURS?!! How awful for you to be feeling so rough and having to go out to meet the person who found Kenny and then to throw up in the streets. Carrie I feel for you I really do. Get some rest while you can!

I do hope Hannah gets to come home soon and no one else gets hit with this virus.

Hang in there love, and praying for you all!!

Hannah Banana!!! What are you up to lately!! I am so sorry to hear about your trip back to the hospital! Rotavirus stinks, literally!! I am glad though that most likely it was not withdrawels as that is much harder to treat. I hope you are getting better and better by the day. I miss your smiles here at TCH PCU but I know you are really enjoying being home with your family!! I know that you are going to do great despite this rough start. I am so glad they were able to find you a formula that works much better for you as well. As one of the team of people frequently venting you I know how uncomfortable you were!!! You are one in a million Hannah and you have such an amazing Mom, Dad, and siblings loving and supporting you. You are going to do great. Remember you owe your parents stress free teenage years cause you have already been a little rebel and caused gray hairs!! 🙂 Carrie this blog is amazing I love being able to catch up on Hannah. The worst part of transfering patients is wondering how they are doing. You and your family are amazing and I know you all will do great. Just keep the faith and get sleep when you can!!
    Sincerely,
Allison Ashworth RN PCU TCH Nightshift!!
